On an unseasonably warm fall day in 2010, I had the pleasure of marrying my best friend. Marriage has been filled with all the good things that love is. And a few of the unpleasant things that love is not, yet love has remained constant, the willingness to fight for each other no matter what. In 2013; we walked away from the security of a full-time job positions, relocated, and began educational endeavors with only the knowledge that moving was what we were called to do. This decision marked the beginning of a new faith journey. I have become an unlikely homemaker, an exhausted seminarian, and a ‘girl’ finding her way in ministry.

Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Truly I do not know how to speak, for I am only a girl.” But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a girl; for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and you shall speak whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord.”
(Jeremiah 1:6-8 NRSV, emphasis mine)
