Summers are traditionally tough for me; it could be because my birthday is in the summer. And birthday brings about intense reflection, a time to take stock in life so to speak. And while this summer has been difficult thus far, I am grateful for the strength to stand and the knowledge that I am standing on solid rock!
Psalm 40:2 (The Message)
I waited and waited and waited for God. At last he looked; finally he listened.
He lifted me out of the ditch,
pulled me from deep mud.
He stood me up on a solid rock
to make sure I wouldn’t slip.
Psalm 40:2 (New International Version)
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
Psalm 40:2 (New King James Version)
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
