Choosing Integrity

Living with Lamentations 3:28-30 “When life is heavy and hard to take, go off by yourself. Enter the silence. Bow in prayer. Don’t ask questions: Wait for hope to appear. Don’t run from trouble. Take it full-face. The “worst” is never the worst.”

I have been trying to figure why this is particularly comforting, the notion that it could get worse. I turned my focus to the thought that it is not as bad as it seems and landed in Job.

Job 27:1-6 (selected) “But for as long as I draw breath, and for as long as God breathes life into me, I’ll not deny my integrity even if it costs me my life. I’m holding fast to my integrity and not loosening my grip – and, believe me, I’ll never regret it.”

Yep, it is all pretty comforting.

In case you haven’t figured it out, my life is feeling crazy at the moment, but I am still standing!

  1. Yes…in the midst of despair, the fact that it CAN get worse is ironically and sometime humorously comforting…maybe we are a bit off in the head!! haha
